Having A Clear Out At Home? Dispose Of Your Rubbish The Easy Way

With the present glut of TV programmes on the subject at the moment, it seems that everyone has been bitten by the clearing-out bug and wants to make the most of their homes. Of course not everyone is as extreme as some of the subjects of these programmes; it makes far better viewing if the subject’s home is floor to ceiling with the stuff and they can’t get motivated to clear their own homes. However, clearing out tons of old stuff can nevertheless be a daunting task for anyone and if the job can be made a little bit easier, then so much the better.

Like the experts on these programmes, begin by tackling one room at a time. Sort through your possessions bit by bit placing the different items in piles or boxes according to whether they need keeping, taking to a charity shop, selling perhaps on Ebay or throwing away. Try to be a bit ruthless in your sorting. After all if you haven’t found a use for the particular item over the last five years or so then it’s unlikely you are going to need it again.

My advice would be to take items to a charity shop as soon as you’ve made the decision. That way, if they’ve gone from your home you won’t be having second thoughts about them.

Chances are you’ll end up with a mountain of bin liners full of rubbish if you’ve done the job thoroughly, and the easiest way to dispose of these would be to hire a skip. Skips are available in a number of sizes (see this size guide as an example to what’s available) according to how much rubbish you need to dispose of and the beauty of them is,  your rubbish can be taken away with just one quick phone call leaving you free to get on with selling the rest of your unwanted items and making the most of your newly acquired space.
